Islamic Azad University, Research and Science branch is now a member of the European Federation of Food Science & Technology (EFFoST), a non-profit association that federates food science and technology organizations in Europe.
According to a Iran Student Correspondents Association (ISCA) report, Dr. Hamid Ezzat-panah, faculty member of S & R IAU explained that measures such as IAU’s membership in EFFoST since 2012 and now the joining of the S&R branch in 2016, have been taken to introduce Iran and its potentials to the international food industry.
The European Federation of Food Science & Technology (EFFoST) is the European group of the International Union of Food Science & Technology (IUFoST), which in turn is a full member of the International Council for Science (ICSU), the scientific organization of the United Nations (UN).
Listing the achievements of the Science and Research branch in international federations and its active participation in reputable international conferences, Dr. Ezzatpanah noted that “participating in prominent food science and technology associations can be very effective in fostering international cooperation in research, faculty ties, continued education for students, and making the most of cutting-edge technology.”
Dr. Ezzat-panah added that the International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST), a non-profit federation of national food science organizations linking the world's food scientists and technologists, holds an assembly every two years to promote the advancement of global food science and technology through its education programs, workshops, and regional symposia.
